Toddlers and pre-school have been for a walk around the fabulous Imber court grounds where they took part in a nature walk collecting leaves and twigs. Whilst out for a walk they sat together to paint their surroundings, which was very relaxing and peaceful. They have taken part in the regular Yoga class in the garden this where they acted out "We're going on a bear hunt" doing different poses and actions for each part of the story. The older children have also been focusing on 'G' for the sound of the week where they have been forming letters in flour whilst also sounding out writing the letter 'G' in the air looking for objects the start with 'G'. Next week’s sound is ‘O’.

The children have also been for a walk through the Imber court grounds, searching around and in the bushes to see what they could find. Peter picked up a mysterious object and said "Look pears that have grown. They are not very big are they!" Holding them up for everyone to see.

Back at the nursery, the children explored the various plants and flowers that are in the nursery garden. They enjoyed investigating the smells, which Lily and Elodie thought were beautiful. They explored the colours and talked about which ones were their favourites. As they were looking, Hector spotted a bumblebee flying over their heads, which inspired them to go on a bug hunt with their magnifying glasses. They were very excited to see all kinds of small insects such as spiders and ants, crawling quickly along the ground.

The children had lots of fun in Bushy park this week, joining in with many Forest School activities. They took fishing nets with them and sat by the small river, dipping their nets into the water. Darcey said "Look, look, I caught a stick!" proudly showing off her prize. They then decided to make their own fishing rods, searching the woodland gardens for their various materials. The children threaded wool around sticks, making their fishing rods nice and long to catch huge fish.

On the way to the stream, they noticed some ducks waddling along and became very excited, standing beside them. Eve said "Look there's baby duck, there's mummy duck but where's daddy duck?" The children had a long think, to which Robyn replied "Daddies gone to the waterworks!" The stream was a fantastic place for the children to paddle, marching up and down and observing how big their splashes could be! Ines shouted "Splish splash, Splish splash!" They had such a brilliant time in the park, going on an animal hunt for the jungle animals from the story 'Rumble in the Jungle'. They listened closely for any sounds or sudden movements, giggling as birds rustled the leaves on the trees. They searched under logs, in the bushes and behind trees. By the end of the visit, the children were discussing their next trip!
