The children decided they would like to star in the Baby Shark show. They took turns to perform and watch each other and set up rows of chairs. ‘We need tickets!’ said Avy and so the children became very busy collecting paper and card to make tickets. ‘ My ticket is blue like the shark!’ observed Douglas. Some children decided to sew their tickets. ‘ The needle is like a shark’s sharp teeth!’ announced Joshua. Some of the older children wrote their own tickets, and did very well with letter formation. The performance was fantastic; the children sang beautifully and especially liked grandma shark as she had no teeth! They danced and danced with Joshua showing everyone his amazing dance moves!

They babies went to the park this week and collected lots of leaves as you can see! We wanted to bring the outdoors indoors to further explore the leaves. Hlenhaze was very busy indeed collecting one leaf at a time, holding up the leaf to show us proudly with lots of smiles as he placed each leaf into the baskets. Eve became distracted by a dog walking past, holding her hands out and shouting ‘Doggy!’ Back at the nursery Thomas crawled through the leaves as Zach threw them in the air shouting ‘Whee, trees!’.

Reminder : Sparkler Party next week on Tuesday 6th November 5.15pm. All welcome!

Sparkler party invitations!

IMG_0045.JPG

The children have made their very own Sparkler Party invitations for the exciting upcoming event on Tuesday 6th November at 5.15pm. Jonah couldn’t wait to tell his daddy when he arrived later about it ‘ Postman Pat will bring the letter!’ Elara excitedly announced ‘ It will be dark !’. Some of the younger children needed a little help to reach the post box, but managed to draw on the invitations all by themselves. Well done!

They visited the garden centre to take part in a pumpkin hunt ‘ I know ! ‘ said Amelia ‘ I can make another pumpkin pie!’. It began to feel chilly on the way back, and so the children enjoyed snuggling down with the new cosy blanket and cushions on returning. ‘ Just like a sleepover!’ they said.

Reminder- please bring in a named pair of wellies to keep at nursery, to be kept on our new Welly Wall near the sandpit.

This week the babies have been exploring different texture and techniques in cooking activities. They managed very well to cut up the fruits, and placed the chopped pieces and poured milk into the blender. They were fascinated to watch the mixture buzz round and round, to make a marvelous milkshake for all to drink afterwards. Joshua giggled and said ‘ Oh no!’ when a piece of banana fell onto the floor! They have also made scones, helping to measure the ingredients and rolling the pastry mix. Zach loved the texture of the flour, shaking it everywhere, but did not want to touch it once milk was added !

Whatever Next !

The children have had an exciting adventure this week! They have been to the moon in their colander space helmets and cardboard box rocket whilst re-enacting the story ‘ Whatever Next!’. They used wellies as space boots and went shopping in the new outdoor shop for items to take on the journey ‘ For our picnic in case we get hungry!’ said Jasmin. When they landed on the moon they had a wonderful picnic, made from the gourds, conkers and mud to make pies and cakes, and using a giant teapot to make Autumn tea whilst they were there!

The babies have had an exciting teddy bear picnic with their friends in a den! They crawled underneath and used real food such as fruits and vegetables. Zach tried to feed one of the teddies with a carrot, and rolled the melon along just like a ball! Xanthe used the wooden spoons to hit the cup like a drum and laughed and smiled as the sounds. They have also taken part in a dance to encourage large scale movements with colourful lightweight scarves, which were thrown into the air. William chose blue and was so proud to tell everyone! Ines hid beneath her scarf and suddenly jump out as if playing peek-a-boo! Great fun!
